With more than 10 years of experience in banking and strategic transformation, Francesca is today a leading expert in retail banking, and related innovative business models, in Europe. Currently working as staff to the Group CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo (the largest bank in Italy with ca. 670 bn of assets and ca. 25 bn of market cap), Francesca reports directly to the Group CEO, with responsibility for the bank’s transformation program and special projects. In this role, she focuses specifically on the Retail activities, both in Italy and abroad, driving also Group-wide special projects related to business development and innovation. Before joining Intesa Sanpaolo in 2012, Francesca was a Director in Barclays Retail and Business Banking in London, where was head of Strategy and Business Planning and Analytics (BP&A). In this role she was in charge of leading the strategy development and execution for Barclays retail at global level, serving 40m customers across 21 countries. Before joining Barclays, Francesca was Associate Partner in McKinsey & Co. based in Milan, London and Eastern Europe. In this role, she advised some of the largest European banking players on corporate finance and strategy topics and she was a core member of the leadership team of the Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice.
